Recruit and train qualified mentors for the Leaders of Tomorrow Program – Below are some ways we can recruit qualified mentors:

1. Recruit for mentors on a regular basis.

2. As part of the corporate sponsor package – have companies commit to recruiting 10, 15 or 20 mentors for the chapter (depending on the size of the organization).

3. A representative from the student affairs committee will attend each monthly meeting and educate the chapter about the mentoring program and the requirements/benefits.

4. Have one of the mentees attend a monthly meeting and share their experience. Make the connection with the membership.

5. Contact administrators at the local colleges/programs such as Big Brother/Sister, Girls Incorporated.

6. Place a “Call for Mentor” article in other organizational newsletters.

Note: All mentors must pass a background check.

Increase financial membership by 15% - To increase membership, we must:

1. Do a better job educating people about the chapter. Post membership information in various professional and collegiate publications and.

2. Create a membership recruitment drive. Execute the plan and hold the appropriate committee accountable.

3. Contact all non-member meeting attendees, "Thank" them for attending and ask them to become a financial member.

Increase professional, collegiate, community & organizational awareness - To improve this area, we must:

1. Partner with other organizations in the city and conduct meetings or effective/cohesive networking events.

2. Become more visible in the community – MS telethon, UNCF/Breast Cancer run walk, etc.

3. Have the local media attend our professional and community events.

4. Create a sub-committee that concentrates on professional, collegiate, community and organizational awareness.

5. A chapter representative will appear once a quarter on one of the local community shows – doing this will educate the city about the chapter.

Note: The first step to meeting these goals is to ensure that a leader is in place that will "Execute the plan and hold people accountable". That is the key. Dr. Wendy will do just that!
